Standard Bedding Pillow Dimensions & Sizing
Direct Answer
Bedding pillows are standardized in width and length to coordinate with standard mattress widths. Spanning Standard (20×26"), Queen (20×30"), and King (20×36") alongside square Euro shams (26×26") and full-length body pillows (20×54"), pillow pairs fit flush across headboards without overhang or center gaps.

Mattress Width Matching Rules
Pillow dimensions are mathematically calculated so that two identical pillows fit side-by-side across their corresponding mattress size:
- Queen Bed ($60\text{ inches wide}$): Two Queen pillows ($2 \times 30\text{ in} = 60\text{ in}$) align perfectly edge-to-edge across the mattress.
- King Bed ($76\text{ inches wide}$): Two King pillows ($2 \times 36\text{ in} = 72\text{ in}$) fit comfortably across the head of the bed with a standard $2\text{-inch}$ perimeter border.
Pillowcase Sizing and Overlap Allowances
Standard pillowcases are manufactured $1\text{ to } 2\text{ inches larger in width}$ and $4\text{ to } 6\text{ inches longer}$ than the insert pillow ($20\times 32\text{"}$ case for a $20\times 26\text{"}$ standard pillow) to accommodate interior pillow loft expansion and provide an envelope tuck closure.
