CR2477

Direct Answer

A CR2477 coin cell is a 3.0V Lithium Manganese Dioxide battery measuring 24.5mm in diameter and 7.7mm in thickness -- the largest-capacity cell in the common CR-series lithium coin cell line. Its size suits devices needing extended runtime from a single coin-shaped cell, such as larger remote controls and industrial sensors.

The Largest Common CR-Series Coin Cell

The CR2477 shares its 24.5mm diameter with the CR2450 and CR2430 but is noticeably thicker at 7.7mm, giving it more internal volume -- and correspondingly more capacity -- than any other cell in the common CR-series lineup. Like its smaller siblings, it follows the same IEC 60086-3 naming convention: the first two digits encode the 24.5mm diameter and the trailing digits encode thickness in tenths of a millimeter, so '77' reads as 7.7mm.

Because of the added thickness, a CR2477 will not fit into a battery holder sized for a CR2450, even though both share the same diameter -- as with the rest of the CR-series family, holders are keyed to a specific thickness, not just diameter.
